ETHICALLY MANUFACTURE your fashion brand from scratch.
Ethical fashion manufacturing is a way of producing clothes that pays close attention to where the goods are sourced and manufactured.
- Garments are created in factories where workers are paid a living wage.
- All fabric and other materials used are from ethical sources.
- We personally know the workers who are making your clothes and regularly visit the factories.
- You can say with confidence that your fashion label is made using ethical sources – that’s our promise to you.
What is Ethical Manufacturing?
Ethical businesses ensure that all parts of production are efficient, safe and most importantly focusses on the health and safety of their workers. To make sure this happens an ethical business enforces health and safety procedures that go above and beyond what is legally required. An ethical business never sacrifices worker health or safety to increase productivity. Everyone is treated fairly with hours that are balanced, they’re paid appropriately and at all times are protected from injury.
Why would you want to use an Ethical Manufacturer?
1. Living Wage – A key element of ethical manufacturing is that workers are paid the living wage in the country that they are working in. This means that workers are not exploited and can afford to live where they are working.
2. Acceptable Working Hours – It is well and good paying a living wage but this must be matched with reasonable working hours. This means that you aren’t sewing or working for more than 9 hours a day.
3. High Safety Standards – In all of our factories we make sure that the safety standards are above what is legally required. This means that all of our workers in the factory are protected from harm when working.
4. No Child Labour – If a factory is using child labour it is not an ethical manufacturer. This is reinforced in our factories and is always a non-negotiable.
5. No Enforced Labour – None of our factories have workers that are forced to work there. All our paid the living wage and we know most of them by name.
6 – Constant Improvement – The last, but not least, condition of ethical manufacturing is that all factories have a constant commitment to improvement. We are always happy with the conditions in our factories (or we wouldn’t work with them) but we also like to see where constant improvement (or kaizen) is taking place.
